In recent years, India has witnessed a growing demand for demolition services due to various factors, such as urbanization, infrastructure development, redevelopment initiatives, and the need for modernization. As the nation’s cities evolve and expand, older structures are often considered obsolete, leading to an increased requirement for efficient and sustainable demolition practices. This rising demand has given rise to specialized companies and technologies dedicated to handling demolition projects, making it a crucial component of India’s ever-changing landscape. DEMTECH India 2023 is organized by the Indian Demolition Association to address these demands. The Indian Demolition Association LLP was formed in November 2019 by a group of demolition contractors in India. The conference aims to bring together professionals, experts, and stakeholders from the demolition industry, providing a platform for knowledge acquisition, exploring new technologies, understanding market dynamics, and showcasing different products. 

In anticipation of the 2nd edition of DEMTECH India 2023, Constrofacilitator conducted an exclusive interview with Mr. Mohan Ramanathan, Managing Director of Advanced Construction Technologies Pvt Ltd. and the Founder-Chairman of the first demolition association in India. He is regarded as a pioneer in the Indian demolition industry and is working towards introducing safer, more efficient ways of working. Mr. Ramanathan advocates for modern approaches and raises awareness about safer, more efficient, and cost-effective methods compared to traditional, labour-intensive demolition processes.
